Inspection body accredited to EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012, type A independence.
L CNDTEST is accredited by BELAC, the Belgian national accreditation body, as an inspection body. Accreditation attests that our technical competence, impartiality and methods have been audited by an independent third party, and that our inspection reports are recognised on that basis.
Accreditation or certification?
The two are often confused. Certification attests that a person or a system meets a standard: our technicians are certified to EN ISO 9712 in this way. Accreditation goes further: it attests that a body is competent to carry out inspections, and it is granted by the national accreditation authority after an audit. That is why we write “accredited inspection body under EN ISO/IEC 17020” and never “ISO 17020 certified”.

What the accreditation does not cover
An accreditation holds for a defined scope. Our pressure testing, welder and procedure qualifications and PED certification services are carried out to the same quality requirements, but they fall outside scope 786-INSP and are therefore not presented as accredited. We state this in every report.

Personnel — EN ISO 9712
Our technicians are certified at levels 2 and 3 to EN ISO 9712 by accredited certification bodies.
Radiography — FANC-AFCN licence
Industrial radiography is performed under a licence from the Federal Agency for Nuclear Control, with dosimetric monitoring of personnel. This is a regulatory licence, not an accreditation.
