Certifications & Qualifications

LCNDTEST relies on internationally recognised certifications and strict compliance with European standards to guarantee the reliability and value of every inspection we perform.

Certifications & Qualifications

In the field of non-destructive testing, personnel competence and standards compliance are the fundamental pillars of inspection quality. LCNDTEST places the certification of its technicians and adherence to normative frameworks at the centre of its quality approach. Every member of our team holds the qualifications required by international standards, and our inspection procedures are developed and validated in accordance with the most demanding European standards. This commitment to excellence enables us to provide our industrial clients with indisputable inspection results, accepted by all regulatory bodies and principal contractors in Belgium and throughout Europe.

EN ISO 9712

The EN ISO 9712 standard is the internationally recognised reference framework for the qualification and certification of non-destructive testing personnel. It defines the requirements for training, industrial experience, certification examination and renewal of qualifications for each NDT method. All LCNDTEST technicians are certified in accordance with this standard by accredited certification bodies, thereby ensuring that every inspection is performed by personnel whose competence has been independently verified and validated. This certification assures our clients that our inspection reports hold recognised value with regulatory authorities, notified bodies and industrial principal contractors.

Qualification Levels

Level 2

A Level 2 certified technician in accordance with EN ISO 9712 is qualified to perform non-destructive testing independently, in compliance with established procedures. They are authorised to set up inspection parameters, carry out examinations, interpret and evaluate results against applicable standards and acceptance criteria, and prepare inspection reports. Level 2 personnel possess an in-depth knowledge of the relevant NDT method and its limitations. At LCNDTEST, our Level 2 technicians work daily in the field to carry out inspection assignments entrusted to us by our clients.

Level 3

The Level 3 certificate in accordance with EN ISO 9712 represents the highest level of qualification in non-destructive testing. The holder is competent to assume full technical responsibility for an NDT laboratory or inspection department. They are authorised to develop and validate inspection procedures, supervise Level 1 and Level 2 personnel, interpret results in complex or atypical situations, select appropriate methods and techniques for each application, and provide technical training for personnel. At LCNDTEST, our Level 3 management ensures the technical soundness of every assignment, from the selection of the method through to the final validation of the report.

Certified Methods

LCNDTEST holds active certifications for all conventional non-destructive testing methods required by Belgian and European industry. Our team is certified in the following methods: Visual Testing (VT) for the direct and indirect inspection of surfaces and welds, Penetrant Testing (PT) for the detection of surface-breaking defects on all types of materials, Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) for crack detection on ferromagnetic materials, Ultrasonic Testing (UT) for volumetric weld examination and thickness measurement, and Radiographic Testing (RT) for internal inspection of welded assemblies and castings. This comprehensive coverage enables us to provide an NDT solution tailored to every industrial challenge, without the need to engage subcontractors.

Applied European Standards

All our inspections are performed in compliance with the applicable harmonised European standards. These normative frameworks define the requirements relating to examination conditions, equipment used, personnel qualifications and defect acceptance criteria. LCNDTEST systematically applies the most recent editions of these standards and adapts its procedures to each normative development. This rigour in following European standards ensures that our inspection reports are accepted by all stakeholders: project owners, inspection bodies, notified bodies and regulatory authorities.

Quality Commitment

Quality is embedded in every stage of our services. LCNDTEST is committed to maintaining the highest standards of reliability through a structured and documented quality approach. Our technicians benefit from a continuous training programme covering normative developments, new NDT technologies and field experience feedback. All our inspection equipment — ultrasonic instruments, X-ray generators, electromagnetic yokes, UV lamps, thickness gauges — is subject to a rigorous calibration plan with documented periodic verifications in accordance with applicable standards. Every inspection report is reviewed and validated before delivery to the client, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the communicated results.

Safety and Compliance

The safety of our personnel and that of the staff present on the intervention sites is an absolute priority for LCNDTEST. Our technicians are trained in the safety regulations specific to industrial environments and hold the necessary qualifications to operate on the most demanding sites. We conduct a systematic risk assessment prior to every intervention, and our operating procedures incorporate the appropriate preventive measures for each situation (work at height, confined spaces, ATEX zones, handling of radioactive sources). LCNDTEST complies with the requirements of the VCA/SCC framework for safety, health and environment, and is fully aligned with the prevention policy of every industrial site where we operate.
